Cammed tpi

Ok so Im planning on doing a motor swap in my 91 camaro rs as of now its just the 305 tbi with the t5. I would like to stay fuel injected so Im looking into droping in a 350 tpi. Now I know for the money I could build a faster carbed 350 but like I said I want to stay FI. Once I find a decent low mile tpi im probably gona just do cam and heads. Evnetually down the road a turbo or supercharger. I came across this artical and saw the numbers on what seems to me only a cammed tpi with longtubes.
it produced 332 hp at 4,800 rpmand 394 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm

Now im not very familiar with the tpi but ahs anyone built one and what would be the best cam to go with? Im aiming for a mean street car with an occasional trip to the strip.

Re: Cammed tpi

A real rough rule of thumb is around .500 to .520 and around 220 degrees for max lift and duration. Doesn't mean you HAVE to go that big. Depends on whether or not your set up can use the air. Are you going to do heads too? Stock TPI or aftermarket TPI. computer tuning or stock ecm?

I'm using the zz4 cam which is 478/512 and 208/212. I think the 2032 has a bit less lift, but a little more duration. I love the way the ZZ4 runs, but I can't say anything with regard to the 2032. Both are fairly common among TPI 350s. I would suggest reading as MUCH as you can!!!!!!!!!

Re: Cammed tpi

i had the 2032 cam in my car.. its 452 by 465 lift.. 214/220 duration... it ran pretty good... you can tell that there was a cam in there and i overall liked it... bottom end improved with this cam..
