strange noise, bad?
Ok so I've raped the hell out of the search button looking for an answer but I'm coming up empty handed.
So I started driving the car about a year and a half ago and it has always made this sound I could never put my finger on. When ever you rev the car it sounds like the whole serpentine belt/pulley assembly sounds like it whines excessively louder than it should. Now I'm not sure that's where the sound is coming from, but all I know is it's coming from the front of car.
Could maybe replacing all of my pulleys fix this? The car was in and out of a shop when I first starting driving it (before I actually decided I should be the one to wrench on the car), and the shop never made any mention of the noise so I'm not sure what to think about it?
The car's a 5.7 tpi with a 700r4 if that makes any difference.
Thank You!

Before you buy all new stuff, try removing the belt and spinning your pulleys by hand. If you feel one dragging or one is hard to spin that is probably where the noise is coming from. Check for dark dust around them also, that's usually a sign a bearing or bushing is failing.

Typically. Most things like the alternator, idler pulley, etc have a bushing and over time it wears out and begins producing "noise" sometimes that noise may last a while and sometimes not. Had a similar issue and it was the alternator. I pulled it and had it rebuilt for like $40 and that fixed the issue. By the way, it DOES take a real man to drive a purple Camaro, I have one too!
