tbi to tpi is on the way opinions plz!

hey to all my 92 tbi is going to be a tpi
from a 87
(everything should bolt up correct?)

its going to be a 305 of course with a lt1 cam and full exhaust and soon a nice rear end (probably a 3.42)

wondering if tpi heads are keepers?

good flow?
should i go ahead and put some aftermarket rockers on em??
or just buy better heads?

knowing all this should i use stock injectors or go bigger and
im pretty sure i cant reuse my feulpump from my tbi correct me if im wrong
if i need a new one wat would be the best ones to get?

i guess that's up to you on the heads, if you can afford that is. second, if you do a head swap you should get your intake port- matched,or buy a bigger intake. You also need to re-pin your harness at the ecm to work with tpi. stock injectors are fine. Idk for sure, but pretty sure you have to swap out the fuel pump.Car will run better with a custom re-burn of the prom too.

I wouldn't use those. At least use tpi heads.

You will definitely need a different fuel pump. TBI only puts out 14 psi- TPI requires close to 50. Also, the rubber lines need to be EFI lines for the pressure. You may already have this- just don't know what a TBI car came with. You can use a stock GM TPI pump, or aftermarket like Walbro 255.

Yeah, well,if you the vortec route for $600/pair then don't forget you need a special tpi lower intake base, it costs about $450.

Re: tbi to tpi is on the way opinions plz!

my tbi lines bolted up no problem. if you dont have the wiring harness from the 87 then re pin your computer to the 730 ecm. if you do have that harness then its fairly easy. plugs in the same BUT you have to swap a few wires around. took me all of 2 hrs to swap harnesses then make the changes.

How much antifreeze where? Don't forget that by pulling the intake you're going to have some antifreeze in the engine. If it's milkshaked that's another issue entirely of course.
