tpi stuff delete cold start egr ,questions tpis slp

can i delete the cold start(9th injector)from my system without problems?will it just act as a carb with no choke that you have to give a bit of gas at the pedal to run at first?or will it screw up the whole system and ecm? also, what are the inconvenients of removing the egr valve?is there any problems with that?,,i dont care about emmission control by the way. and,,,i bought a tpis big mouth intake,,is that any good? i received a tpis tech book with it,an reading it kinda scared me,these guys seem to be a bunch of clowns, the way they show you to cut open the air box on a trans am is just plaine stupid, the air comes from the top, goes throught the filtre from the inside out, then to the motor,,they suggest you out the outer portion of the box!! they dont seem to realize,it totally bypasses the filter all together,,plus they say to cut out the alum fins in the maf sensor, and get rid of the ''thrash'' screens they call em,,i mean, god!,these 2 items are what makes the maf sensor sense! without em,its just a piece of plastic plumbing!!! so i have doubts on their thechnical knowlege!although i dont know much, even i,can see the stupid things they say,,should i use an intake they designed? and are the edelbrock runners siamesable?? are they as good as the slp's? they sure look better under a hood!

I haven't had a cold start injector for 12 years, you will be good without it. Removing the screens and shaving the fins down increases air flow by like 30%. However when I did mine I blew out the shavings with the air compressor. When I did that the litle wire inside broke and I got to buy a new one. I did not try it again. Your personal choice.

As far as TPIS goes, they've been tuning and testing tuned port injection since they first come out. As with all mods, some work better on modified motors than with stock motors. Some gains are minimal with stock motors. The intake mods will gain some on a stock motor, but you had better have headers and free flowing exhaust also. The EGR delete may need to be reprogrammed in the ECM to prevent any codes. Some have deleted the EGR and not had any codes, but many have had code problems. Also, removing the screens on the MAF "may" cause a code 33 in the ECM also. You usually won't benifit from removing the screens until you get over 375hp. A stock MAF and stock throttle body will flow enough to support anything up to 375-400hp.http://gmtips.com/3rd-degree/dox/tip...maf-screen.htm
