hard cold start

finally got my car to run and it runs great! Get it sideways all the time : ). but i kinda noticed it sometimes has a really hard cold start ive replaced tons of parts such as fuel pump, filer. relay, fuel pressure regulator,spark plugs, spark plug wires, oil, coolant Etc. im thinking the injectors could be gummed up with crap? or maybe even bad gass what do you guys think it could be? Ps: i had to use starting fluid to get it started today to pull it into the garage to work on it let me know guys. : )

Re: hard cold start

Check that the fuel pump runs at key-on, engine-off. Otherwise it takes a bunch of cranking to get the oil pressure up to operate the fuel pump.

While checking that check that the fuel pressure is between 43 and 47 psi. Low fuel pressure will also cause a hard start.

RBob.

{edited to change fuel pressure to those of a TPI system}

Re: hard cold start

sea foam may work, you may have a issue with the thermo time switch.

Re: hard cold start

9th injector? I've got a cold start problem on my Iroc as well so I'm also curious.
