help me sort the options here? different computer setups?
Hi all,
installing an 89 TPI on a 327 in a 57 chev pickup. the 327 is very mild, almost stock type specs.
I planned to run a mega-squirt because I'm a DIY type of guy. Now I'm finding out that MS doesn't do the IAC very good. it doesn't adjust the idle continuously. I really wanted that so it would keep a constant idle at different temps and with A/C, dropping in gear etc. I do want to be able to tune with laptop, that's a must for me.
So, is there some stock computer setup that allows manual tuning? The deal of sending off a chip to some tuner place is not not something I'd be into.
I can get about any stock computer, I'm OK with opening the stock wiring harness and giving it a haircut, etc. I was going to build my own harness with the MS.
Any bright ideas?

EZ EFI go to ebay do search for EZ EFI I see they have a kit for around $873 if you have a TPI manifold and runners. Or lots of other options. My 1958 Chevy Truck 350 TPI with all new sensors and stand alone harness and completely restored TPI off an 88 camaro has been a Nightmare!

For simplicity a '730 ECM from a 90 -92 TPI F-Body with speed density .
Cleaner install ; no MAF sensor on intake ducting
Unlimited tuning
Has been well hacked by the gurus in 3rd Gen tuning dept

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/diy-prom/
Aftermarket software and hardware allows you to reprogram chips or install a emulator
connected to a laptop to allow real time , as you drive tuning

Plenty of us running the stock TPI ECM's ( both MAP and MAF ) in many different, sometime big Hp apps

vetteoz, I went over to those links and looked around. too much to digest in any reasonable time. Do you know if there's a FAQ or something that just covers the basics of getting a car up and running? Some of those threads over there are years old, hard to find the needed info. I don't really want to get into burning my own PROMs or whatever, I've already got too much to do.
