1989 Silverado TPI no start
Well, I'm stumped. I have a 89 Silverado, older 350 crate motor. It was a TBI that was converted to carb, I never liked the performance since I bought it back years ago. This is my third TPI swap and I can't figure this one out, so get your thinking caps on.
What I have done:
When I ohm my entire left and right banks on the Camaro, I'm getting ~3.5 ohms (SVO 30#) while the truck reads at 5.5 ohms each bank.
Any ideas?
What I have done:
- 350 w/ 86 TPI unit - cold start is there but not hooked up (running a 89 bin tuned for 19# injectors, VATS disabled)
- Walbro 190lph pump, 43# of pressure at the rail. Holds pressure.
- Oil pressure switch/sensor is present and working
- Tried two distributors - one is from my running Camaro (both will fire motor briefly with starting fluid)
- Distributor is NOT 180* out
- Harness came out of my running 89 Camaro, grounds are good on the back of the heads.
- Injectors fired on the bench, tested at 16 ohms. Going to swap in another pair tonight and see what happens
- Tried two different 165 ECM's, both ran the Camaro
- I noided the injector circuits from inside the truck, both banks flash during crank
When I ohm my entire left and right banks on the Camaro, I'm getting ~3.5 ohms (SVO 30#) while the truck reads at 5.5 ohms each bank.
Any ideas?

Also, there is a -.14v difference between the +12v at the injector than at the battery (12.13v @ injector). The injector swap is going to have to wait until tomorrow afternoon.
I hooked the other distributor up and grounded the base in a way that I could spin the shaft by hand. I turned the key to run, spun the distributor, and the fuel pump kicked on. I didn't hear the injectors click, but the same thing happened with the Camaro when I did the same setup. I assume it was because I didn't get the "RPM" high enough by hand.
Going to drain the tank as well, or setup a small reservoir tank with an inline pump to rule out bad gas or water present in the current tank.

Is the VATS disabled in the EPROM or a VATS signal present to the ECM????
Never the less sounds like an injector issue to me. A set of LT1 injectors and slightly grind down the 4 posts on the intake where the fuel rail sits and it should run very well.

VATS is disabled. The injectors that came out of my 89 Camaro are going in around 3pm.
I will update again after work this afternoon.

THE BITCH IS ALIVE!!!!!!
Another injector swap, plumbed the oil pressure switch with a male/male adapter and a t fitting, yanked all the IP connector pins and went with the basics (will replace one by one), pumped the fuel out of the tank and added fresh gas, a HEALTHY shot of Carb/TB cleaner, and VIOLA!
