86 fuel rail tpi on 87 intake Tpi

Ok so I'm in the process of disconnecting the tpi manifold setup an placing it On my 87 tbi 305 truck engine so far I got the tpi intake (87-92) manifold the fuel rail from the 86 with all injectors plus cold start. I'm in the process of putting the one belt serp setup on an notice that the bottom steel fuel line sticks out intstead of tuck behind the alt kinda hits on the ps pump is there a way to make it work Or do I have to change the steel lines an fittings

If you are using the serpentine off of the tbi truck the radiator upper hose will rub on the belt. you need the 88-92 tpi alt bracket and new lines to run behind the bracket or convert the rails to rear feed.

no im using a serp set up off of a 1989 gta but the fuel lines sit in front off the serp setup instead of in back under the alt looks like ill just bend the lines alittle bit to make them not rub on the ps pump pulley

Re: 86 fuel rail tpi on 87 intake Tpi

My 87 is stripped down the basics as there is no emissions testing in my area. I run the TPI with an ACCEL DFI controller and it is converted to speed density, thus eliminatimng the MAF sensor. For the engine to operate, you need fuel supply, injectors, TPS, ECT sensor, IAT sensor, MAF or MAP sensor(depending on whether it's speed density or MAF system), and some kind of ignition. If you are using the factory ECM, you will probably want to stay with the factory HEI ignition. By routing the sensor wiring harness under the runners, I have made it much less conspicuous. In fact, as part of my recent underhood work, I rerouted much of the engine harness and with a little more work I could make it almost unnoticeable.
