fire by distributor

just like it sounds, had a fire right by the distributor. My question is will an 1986 harness work in 1985 tpi? I am more concerned with the ECM and MAF.

85 and 86 should be the same as I believe 87 was the first year for the small cap hei.

the ecm connector will need to be repinned for the 165 to the 870. if you can get a maf and 1227165 ecm for a 86-89 it would be a great upgrade.

what about the two harness' for the burnoff and relay by the ecm? do I need those also?

So I decided to go ahead and do the swap to the 1227165 ecm. I have a list of compatible cars that use the same ecm. Can I use my prom out of my 85 ecm? I dont see a difference in part numbers. The ecm I found is out of a 1987 Sonoma 2.5l

you will need a memcal for the swap look for a bcc from 86-87 camaro those will not have vats.
