TPI 305 no start
TPI 305 no start
Tried to fire the motor in my 34 coupe---no go. cylinders 2,3,5 making heat but the others don't seem to be getting fuel, pulled the #1 plug and it is dry, all are getting spark. The motor is an 86 305 that hasn't been run since rebuild 5 years ago but has been stored in a protective environment. The computer is a16198262 (service replacement for #1227730). I can't get to the injector connectors without pulling the plenum because they are facing inboard.
I guess my questions are:
1. does the fact that cyl #s 2,3,5 seem to be working provide any clues?
2. If this is a batch fire system shouldn't they all work if 3 injectors work?
Any tips would be appreciated cause I don't know s--- about TPI.
Thanks
Bud

Re: TPI 305 no start
You have pressure at the fuel rails and the computer is correctly
operating the injectors ( trying to ) in each bank ( each bank is fired separately )
How old or how long have injectors been sitting?

Re: TPI 305 no start
the engine has not been fired since rebuild about 5 yrs ago but I understand the injectors were checked and lubed at that time. Sounds like I might as well pull them and have them checked.
