When A/C turns on, RPM drop drastically

When A/C turns on, RPM drop drastically
Before I replaced my altenator and serpentine belt, the a/c worked fine along with the car. After the replacement of the aformentioned parts, when I turn on the a/c, my RPMs drop by about 1000. Not the normal drop for a few hundred then back up to normal, I mean a big drop to the point my car wants to stall. Ideas?

If it is the a/c compressor let me know, I've got the used one off of my car for 105 including shipping, a new one from oreilly auto parts is over 200.
