91 Firebird starts strong than won't idle
I recently bought a 91 firebird (305 TPI/700R4) drove it home and than the next day lost 3/4 gear (possible another issue) the fallowing day I was driving it around and it just kinda died not all of a sudden but kinda sputtered and quite, coasted to a parking lot and got it to fire back up (after some cranking) than a little down the road it happened agian but this time it would start up on the second crank of the start than die immediately looked it over found out 2 spark plug wires were off a tried again same thing.
We than brought it home and checked a few things (fuel pump works, fuel at rails, didn't check pressure though noticed on the bottom of the car that the hard line that is hooked to the exhaust was broken spark plugs were burning clean)switched fuel filters and tried it. It started and ran...for awhile about than died while driving again. I was able to limp it closer to home by rapidly pumping the pedal. the check engine light was on but when I plugged in the tester I just got a 12. would the next step be to check the injectors? my brother was saying something about a MAP sensor I dunno even what these acronyms mean. or could this all just be to the bad tranny?
