TPI is the way to go

Just got my 91 Z28 Camaro converted back to tpi from a carb setup. And I will tell you what a difference. The carb setup was fast, but it's faster now. It pulls hard all the way to 5000 rpm, I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Oh it's a 350 with a 5 speed. I'm guessing about 325 hp, I'm running 24lb injectors, egr delete, larger cam, 305 heades, headers, and 3" cat free exhaust. I didn't built the motor, so I don't know the specs.

I want to thank everyone that helped me out and that I purchased parts from. You guys made this swap easy.

Re: TPI is the way to go

How much did it end up setting you back? Im wanting to do a stealth ram swap. The whole intake is only $400 or so for my Vortec heads, same as just the vortec TPI base. But all the rest of the stuff I need just seems like it will nickel and dime me to death.

Re: TPI is the way to go

I had

100 for the complete intake.

65 for 24lb injectors, g1 adapter, wire set

30 for gasket set

45 for snokel air cleaner, egr solenoid ( didn't use ), air cleaner boot

100 for tune-up ( cap, rotor, plugs, paint, thermo stat, hoses )

Programed chip from tunedperformanc for 350 TPI with 5 Speed ( GREAT DEAL )

Total Less than $ 400

No the car was an original TPI, so the fuel pump was good. I even left the original harness in, and fixed it. I was using the holley bypass fuel pressure regulator on the carb setup.

I think I'm gonna need to get posi. The tires just spin tooooooo easy now. LOL even with the subframe connectors and adjustable bars.

Nice to hear but it's the way to go back in 1992. I have both ls1 84 z28 and a tpi 87 gta . It's like night and day. Join the dark side
