1989 firebird timing help please
The car is a 89 firebird with a 305 tpi . i just had a new distrubator put in but now the car has problems starting unless i avance the timing alot. and once the car is warmed up and you shut it off it wont start it just turns over
heres a pic of the rotor with the car off its fcacing the drivers door not the #1 clinder. did the guy put the disrtibator in wrong?

Sounds like you put it in 180 degrees off. Rotate the engine to TDC. If the engine is 180 off, the rotor will be pointing at the firewall. Pull the dist. out and rotate it around so it points at number one. Then retime it with the EST wire unplugged.
