Oil Temp Guage Install?
Ive got an '88 C4 and was trying to hook my autometer digital oil temp guage up. Pretty straight forward directions: one wire to power,ground and dimmer switch. Only thing I have a question about is where to install the sender? What do I have to do to keep my factory oil temp guage?

didnt think it had to be Corvette specific since its an L98 although I didnt know f-bodies didnt have the oil temp guages from the factory.

Why not make T coupling where you have the oil pressure sending unit,driver side behind the intake,should solve your problem.

you can also get the adapter that will go on top of you oil filter on the eng block. it will have 3 holes 2, to a cooler (block them off) and one for your sending unit. they start off at $20 on ebay.

several methods/locations can be used for oil temp
sender:
-original C4 location in hole above oil filter
-braze a bung into pan and install sender
-use sender that replaces oil plug-VDO had years ago
-drill and tap hole in oil cooler adaptor hot flow area
-add "T"fitting in hotside oilcooler plumbing.
for mine i used original C4 location(my engine is from
'84 vette
)
