1.6 stamped rocker arms

Hi, I have the LB9 207/213 cam. I am going to be replacing valve seals soon. While in the heads I was thinking of going with a 1.6 ratio rocker ratio and upgrade to z28 valve springs. My question is would these rockers just bolt in without grinding for clearance? Is it worth the 150 dollar upgrade for the springs and stamped rocker arms? The arms are self aligning. 1.6 Ratio SB Chevrolet Stamped Long Slot Rocker Arms - 87-UP (ELGRK738) Specifications. http://sdparts.com/details/elgin-industries/elgrk738 Thanks.

Re: 1.6 stamped rocker arms

Any input would be appreciated! I am curious if these stamped rockers are worth the money or spend extra for the 1.6 comp cam magnum roller tips? Would the extra lift to 4.50 - 4.60 be worth the money invested on a stock tpi with a header install in the near future?

Re: 1.6 stamped rocker arms

For what those stamped rockers cost, you may want to look into PRW Sportsman roller tip rockers. When I was researching rockers for my Vortecs, I looked into these and wound up buying a set. A few engine builders on nastyz28 claimed to like these better than the Comp roller tip rockers. The rockers are a nice quality piece. The body is thick, and is made from chromoly, so it should be a lot less prone to flex. My only complaint is that I had to clean the threads in a few of the lock nuts, and one was too far gone so I had to have PRW send me a new one.

Re: 1.6 stamped rocker arms

I found them PRW roller tips on Ebay for $ 120 dollars. Would my stock computer allow a performance gain with the lift increasing to 4.43/4.59 ? (1988 305 5 spd) I am doing a valve seal change this weekend. I ordered two sets of felpro part # ss72527 intake o ring valve seals. I hope it repairs the immense oil consumption . Does the o ring seal just sit flush on the stem base of the valve? Thank you for your reply Jim. Im leaning towards buying the PRW rockers.
