Fusable link question
Posted this in the electronics section as well, need an answer asap
Would running the fusable link wire directly into the positive battery cable instead of the starter solenoid hurt anything?
I ask because the bolt to unhook all the wires from the starter solenoid is so rusted that the wires turn with the bolt, making it impossible for me to remove it with just a car jack to lift the car.
The end of the wire on the solenoid side is very old and brittle ( This being the 2nd time it has broke ) and there isn't enough of it left for me to even splice the fusable side back to the wire.
I attached a Illustration to try and make things a little more clear.

Re: Fusable link question
It's fine, it will hurt nothing. The Starter is just used as a distribution point for power since there is a hefty power cable already ran there. As long as the component is receiving the recommended amount of power and protection you are golden!
