305 TPI Runs till it gets warm then dies
305 TPI Runs till it gets warm then dies
I have a 305 with TPI that holds 48psi fuel pressure will run till it warms up then dies instantly no sputtering. When i first start it it runs pretty smooth then starts fluttering then start smelling gas fumes then dies. I have changed almost every sensor and relay on the car. I have not changed the EGR or MAF sensor. The car will sometimes start back up and run again for a min then die then sometimes it will not start again for 15 min. The cat has also been changed. Do you think it could be the EGR or MAF? It has all new plugs wires and coil but was giving me the same problem before those were changed. I also have not changed the injectors and have put seafoam and stabilizer in the tank. It ran descent before i parked it for about 2 months.

Seafoam is a great product, however, fuel additives are sometimes a temporary fix.
If you have any junk in your fuel system it can ultimately clog your injectors. Debris in your injectors can occlude the flow of fuel, or it can cause them to leak.
Definitely check the ohms on your injectors when they are hot and cold. The stock
injectors are notorious for coil failure especially when they are hot....they just shut down.

Replaced distributor cause of the pick up coil and reset the timing to 6 degrees and ran like a top for about 2 hrs then did the same thing all over again. Started idling rough then died. wait 20 min starts up again and dies. I am beating my head on this one

I had a very similar issue and it was a bad coil. I replaced It with an after market coil that lasted about a day. I ended up buying an AC Delco coil and it's runs like a champ ever since.
