Missing issues, help!
I have replaced almost every electrical part but the MAF and the ECM. When I give the car 3,500rpm (free rev) is will miss and sputter down to 1,500rpm or lower, it does not do this above 4,000rpm. The car runs great at WOT though
… I just check the fuel pressure and I'm getting 49psi will the vacuum hose disconnected from the regulator and I got 41 psi at idle. The pressure held after I turned the car off so it doesn't seem to be leaking anywhere.
The car smells rich and misses when trying to hold rpm, it doesn't idle too bad. The car is on time, that is not the issue. I have cleaned all the grounds. I just added a heated o2 sensor (there was no sensor there before
) But now its coding that its running rich. This has been a cheap car that I bought to learn and it has never run right, this is not a new issue.
The MAF sensor has a small crack in it, so I'm tempted to believe that it is the issue. Besides the crack, noting else seems to be damaged inside. I also read that if you don't have a miss at high rpm then the MAF could be the problem. It idles ok, its not perfect. All I can afford is a remanufactured Autozone MAF (I have $40 store credit
and the part is $60) if it is the problem, has anyone used one of those MAF sensors?
MAF sensor with crack:

The engine is an '87 l98 with a t-5 behind it. The person that swapped the engine used a 305tpi 5-speed computer. If the computer ends out being bad, should I replace it with the same computer or a l98 auto computer?
Any help is appreciated, I am stumped
