1987 L-98 1.6 Rockers
Heyevery one, I have to have my valve stem seals replaced and was thinking it's a good time to upgrade to 1.6 Roller Rockers. The shop is a local one that does Okay work. My question is how detailed of a job is the rockers? Is there adjustments to be made? If so what? I asked the tech that would be doing the job and he said that all you do is just bolt them on. Is that correct or should I run away?
Thanks for any insight

Sometimes the pushrod rubs on the bottom of the hole where it comes through the head. That needs to be attended to.

You dont just bolt them on you need to set lifter preload on each rocker. Its easy to do and can be done in less than an hr once you get the valve covers off. As said above need to watch the pushrods but i didnt have a problem with mine. Self aligning 1.6's. Do pick up abit of power

That means grinding, so how would you ensure that NO metal shavings ended up in the oil? I know you can stuff rags in some areas & maybe run a vacuum at the grinding point while enlarging the pushrod hole/slot, but is there any other way to ensure ALL the shavings come out & not end up in the oil?
