Will getting computer end my woes?

Have checked everything i can think of, yet engine won't come to life. If you tickle purple wire from distributor and hear injectors clicking, does that mean drivers in computer are good, or does that just bypass computer?

You have bad wiring ,
only the computer makes the injectors work after it gets the reference signal from the dist that the engine is turning over

TPI Corvette shown but F-Body wiring from dist to computer the same

Re: Will getting computer end my woes?

Ran through connections, and voltages again at 2 connectors at ecm and distrbutor. Everything seems fine except for the grounds...when ohming grounds at ecm connectors to various ground points in engine bay, i get 4.5 ohms at various chassis ground bolts...2.0 ohms going directly to battery ground...yet i get a low ohm reading when touching engine itself (0.5 ohms) So..should i bypass and give computer lower ohm ground (0.5 ohm) and see if this cures nostart (before actually replacing wires of course) Not knowledgeable in eletronics enough to know if these differances in ohms means anything, so any help is appreciated alot!

Re: Will getting computer end my woes?

Seem to have all parts working...i now have spark and injectors pulse....i am getting about 10 volts while cranking as i'm backprobing computer connection. Does this sound like enough for it to work correctly? I do remember reading that it gets glitchy at 8 volts. Could it be there is bad fuel trapped in crankcase and cylinders from leaking injectors b4 replacing? Thanks again for any suggestions on where to look next.

Re: Will getting computer end my woes?

Just want to follow for others future searches: "My birds alive!" Hehehe...Started as starting fuid only starts...replaced injectors..pickup coil and used a old GM icm to replace a very used one. Purple wire on dist. made pulses, but not while cranking...there was alot of corrosion on old icm..cleaned it, and shes alive again.
Of course this sounds fast, but many, many other tests were performed on wiring and components too. Good Luck
