Hard starting 88 IROC
First time I have posted anything here, hope its the right spot. I have an 88 IROC TPI, getting to the issue it starts sometimes then runs good, I've narrowed it down to no fuel at initial start-up, new fuel pump and filter putting out good pressure, will start every-time if you pull MAF grommet and spray with starter fluid, question is what relay or module controls the initial start-up? Car runs great once this is done and the start-up is intermittent as it will start once in a while, not too trustworthy right now! Thanks for any help.

Re: Hard starting 88 IROC
you could have a issue with the ninth injector or cold start switch.

Re: Hard starting 88 IROC
Thank you for the heads up, I will attempt it this weekend, it has to be something and I was at a loss as to where to start, want to see if its worth repairing or just switch over to intake and carb with no ecm.....

Re: Hard starting 88 IROC
Im new to this site so bare with me.
I used to have this hard start problem with my 91 5.7 tpi. After replacing almost the whole ignition and fuel system it turned out to be the ignition coil connectors. I took a pic of them and Im trying to figure out how to get them posted on here. I replaced them and the car fires off easy now.
