MSD ignition question
My 87 L98 has an MSD ignition system installed by a previous owner. Coil, distributor and MSD 6A box. As far as I can tell it works fine, but the installation leaves a little bit to be desired. The washer reservoir was remove to mount the box and coil. The wiring connections are solid but not run very well. I'm trying to clean things up under the hood and wonder if I should remove this setup and go back to a more stock setup. The engine has been modified some, Trick Flow heads, ported intake, tune, etc. I don't think changing the ignition system would make a noticeable difference in performance with this setup, but I figured i would ask for opinions. Also, I don't have any experience with the stock setup, so what would be involved with changing it back?

Re: MSD ignition question
If the car is running good, I would suggest keeping the MSD coil and distributor. Just remove the 6A box. I'm not sure exactly how the 6A box gets hooked into the ignition system, but you should be able to go back to stock fairly easy. It may help to go to Jegs or Summit, look up the 6A box and download the installation instructions to see how it is hooked in.
