Ticking tpi...thinking valvetrain need help

So I did the whole tbi to tpi swap a little over a month ago and I've been having issues with my lifters, I keep hearing a tick when my rpms increase, I know the injectors make noise but the only thing I can compare it to is a bad throwout bearing, its a distinct noise. I have adjusted my valves using the eoic method and the running method, the noise is non existant on a cold start as the engine warns up the sound becomes more distinct. I'm leaning towards a shotty lifter, being that they are expensive and a pain to swap because I have to yank the ibtake, I'm looking for advice. The rocker arms are not tapping I know that for sure, and the sound is coming from the passenger side and a little on the drivers side valve cover. Is there any way I can be sure that the lifters are toasted? They're hydraulic roller lifters if that helps at all.

this noise is a common problem with older dirty roller lifters.

Is that a reputable site? I was looking at a set of trickflow oem style ones from summit, but they're 135 and until now I couldn't find them cheaper. Is there a way to test the lifters without pulling them? Or is this a do it and hope for the best kind of deal?

skipwhite is a good place to deal with. There price is the same on ebay aswell. i'm not sure if you could test weak ones bye pushing on the pushrods or not. The delphi ones would be the same as oem gm or acdelco.
