introduction and question

Hi I'm Johnny and I'm rebuilding a tpi. This is my camaro

The tpi isn't going in this. It's going in a Porsche 944. My question I'd, my tpi came from an 89 z. But my intake to head bolts are sideways like pre 86. Is this right? Does this mean it was swapped in from an older car? How can I tell exactly what year it was from?

Re: introduction and question

do you know the cars vin from which the engine came? i would say look for serial numbers on the block and look for a block decoder. unless the owner of the engine swapped the heads out and the block is a diff. year.

Re: introduction and question

All non Vortecs intake bolts are 'sideways'. 87 up have the center bolts on both sides at a different angle then the others.

Vortec heads have intake bolts that go straight up and down.
