My Accel intake barely covers the back wall

I took a picture with the intake in place, and used a marker to draw a line where the intake ends. The next picture shows how much (or how little) of the back wall my intake is covering. Is this just a crappy designed intake? I can see why I've been having leaking issues on the back wall. I'm running the old style AFR heads, but I would think the intake holes on the heads would be in the right place?

Looks pretty good to me. Just use a larger bead of some high quality rtv to seal it up. I have a leak back there too. On the list of things to do.

100% normal. Use permetex sensor safe ultra black.

Don't run the motor for atleast 24 hrs after you install the intake.

^^^ What he said.
The Right Stuff is the best stuff i've found for sealing up both ends of my intake. Sets up fast and when it fully cures you will need a prybar to get that intake off.

Re: My Accel intake barely covers the back wall

Roger that, thanks, makes me feel better about this intake.

You can see my dimples I made with a 1/8" drill bit. I guess I'll have to move them a little bit to match where the intake sits. The goal of them is to give the silicone bead something to bite on.
