Rocker Arms and Studs
I have a 88 Trans Am with the LB9 in it. I plan on upgrading to 1.6 ratio rockers. From what I have researched, will these fit? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/scc-scp1036bl. Also the rocker arm studs, does the 88 have the press in studs? Or do I just need to pull a valve cover off and find out? Do i need to swap to screw in studs if I put 1.6 RR? Also what screw in studs do I need? How hard is it to install them? Thanks

Yes, those will work. You have press in studs, no you do not need to change them to screw in if only doing a rocker arm swap. A good bit of machining is involved to properly install screw in studs.

Alright cool, yea I pulled the valve covers off and they got the stupid press in studs but owell. But thats good that I don't have to change the studs

Re: Rocker Arms and Studs
ive just ordered the same set of rocker arms. Only thing im nerves about his how durable they are and how well they hold up on a street car. btw good cam choice for your 305.

Re: Rocker Arms and Studs
Ive been reading about them and eveybody says something different so hopefully they'll be great for a daily driver. I'm hoping it will be. I think I have the 350 cam though, so I doubt I'll see much of an improvement, but hopefully I will

To run an Lt1 cam ,along with 1.6 rockers you need to change your springs. Too much lift now. You can run the stock cam with 1.6 rockers.
