Silly question, but I gotta know

Can anyone tell me for sure.. is the distributor cover on our 89 IROC TPI engines plastic or made out of metal that can be polished..???? Stone

The one on my '89 is aluminum. I've seen plastic ones also. Not sure when they switched them.

Ok, then that explains it. I saw a guy on youtube polishing his 87 TPI and he polished the dist cover, then when I pulled mine of it has a small section where the paint has been rubbed off so I'm guessing mine is plastic. Thanks guys.. Stone

Corvettes got metal ones. Fbodys were plastic as far as I know. I could be wrong though
