throttlebody spring
The gas pedal seems to be sticking. I have to reach under it and pull it back to idle the car down. Its a new throttle cable as I had just converted to tpi about a year ago. This had recently started as an issue.
Ive checked the cable for any interference and looked inside the throttle body for the same. It appears strong and tight and no play.
How do I replace the spring or adjust it to make it tighter? Can I adjust the cable mount possibly? Its a 5 speed and no cruise control either. just the throttle cable.

Re: throttlebody spring
the butterflies are pulled to one side by the vac and bind up on the side of the TB bore.
Usually a sharp tap on the pedal will shake them loose and the idle will lower to normal revs
Can confirm by opening the throttle to raise revs with cable disconnected and then slowly lower the revs as you would when driving.
Compare that with suddenly closing the throttle.
If the spring tension is at fault you will return to the same ( high ) idle speed; if the idle speed varies ,likely the problem I outlined.
Can also check for wear by holding the throttle open fully and then moving the linkage in a horizontal motion; if any movement the shaft holes are worn
