BUMP!
Intake is currently off and I am looking opinions on single planes.
Post up what you'd get if you were going single plane today.
So far I have found
-RHS (They make the intakes for FAST, so no reason to look at them)
-Victor E
-Pro-Ram(Made by Accell)
One area to note is my AFR heads are set up for 1205 gaskets. It looks like teh victor E and the Pro-Ram will work with those easily. The RHS is larger(closer to a 1206), so it wouldn't match perfectly as the other two would....

Correct victor e is somewhere near a 1205 port out the box. Alittle smaller. Can be made to 1207. I made 1009 whp so far on mine

Yeah, I would like to stay around a 1205 to avoid pulling heads to port...

Old thread, but what did you end up with for an intake? I'm trying to decide myself.

You went 103 in the 1/8 before and now 110.5? Thats an incredible gain. Hows how much good there is in allowing a motor to rpm. Tpi just doesnt cut it

Re: HIGHEST flowing EFI SBC intake....PERIOD. I may be ditching TPI!
Yes, I THINK I may of trapped higher once or twice, but not sure.
Overall OVER 7 MPH gain in the 1/8.(and the newest run was VERY less than optimal...NO WOT in 1st or 2nd).
The gain is all over 6000 RPM though. If you swap intakes and don't increase RPM, the swap is worthless..
TPI does NOT cut it for all out performance

Yeah your cam and heads wanted to make power to well over 5800 so that makes sense

Weren't you still quicker with TPI with a 6.84 second 1/8 time? I know when I switched to a miniram my torque took a nosedive.

Re: HIGHEST flowing EFI SBC intake....PERIOD. I may be ditching TPI!
Yes, but this was the first time out..on old Drag radials.Only went to log a few runs. TPI was on ET streets leaving much better.(1.6 60')
This time I never went wide open throttle in first or second at all! It is much faster now. I just wasn't concerned with running a number yet!
Did I lose torque? Yeah, a little, but it doesn't matter. With the power it makes now and how hard it comes on you can't notice it

Yes. I was simply stating that so people who swap to a single plane realize everything else(besides just the intake) needs to be able to turn more RPM or the swap won't be beneficial to you.

Well, do it(or upgrade the blower). You have a lot of HP just sitting there waiting for you!

If I remember correctly didn't you have a stock TPI unit before? Can't wait to see some results with a set of slicks, have you thought about a rear gear change? You probably would run out of gear in the 1/4 since you would trap so high but I can see in the 1/8 track it could help.

Re: HIGHEST flowing EFI SBC intake....PERIOD. I may be ditching TPI!
Tpi before was highly ported stock base, ported slp runners, siamesed plenum, and 58mm holley.
I will be running the same et streets I ran last time with the tpi in a couple weeks.
I have a 3.50 rear. With 26" tires I like it... 112 in third and 155ish in 4th. About right for my set up. I'd love to trap 150..... but 145 would be OK.
Really want a 9 second pass!

What TB/Elbow combo did u end up going?
I am trying to figure out what all parts I want for my newest set-up. Short blocks almost ready, now I need to figure out the rest of the parts.
421ci AFR 220's, Now I am Leaning to the RHS/Fast Intake for the 1206 gasket out of the box
Not sure if I should go the 4bbl TB or an Elbow with an LS2 or something similar..... thoughts?

Check my thread! I went with a custom elbow that fits to a 58mm Holley TB.
If you don't already have a TB, I'd get an elbow from http://www.6061.com/ and use a LS1 style TB

Must be getting blind in my old age, lol, not sure how I missed that, thanx
What is the advantages to the LSx style TB over a typical 4barrel?

Cold air intake is easier to plumb due to being round. 4bbl needs hat and then run piping.
