Switiching TPI in for LG4
Hi all,
I am going to buy a 1987 Iroc that has the 5 speed transmission and the 4 barrel LG4. At the moment, I have a donor 1985 Iroc that has the 305 TPI. Would there be any problems switching in my 1985 305 TPI and ditching the LG4? Would the TPI engine hook up fine to the 5 speed? I have heard that the 1985 TPI engines are a little different from the other year TPI engines, so I don't know if it would work in a 1987 Iroc 5 speed.

The 85 intake would need the center holes elongated to work on the 87. The 87 is a one piece rear main seal engine so you would need a new flywheel. the 85 ecm is to the greatest.
