Moates vs EBL
I just bought a APU1 from moates. Does this work just as good or better then the Dynamic EBL system? I just noticed that one and wondering if I made a good choice. It appears the EBL is cleaner setup but then only car specific. The APU1 will work with any GM pre 96?
Also any good links to external sites for how to learn about tuning and how to use moates? the TunerCat website was pretty limited
Moved to DIY PROM.

This post should be moved to DIY Prom, Join gearhead efi or read the tuning stickies.
The is a listing of use on moates site for the apu1 but it will work on alot a c3 and P4 ecms.
Dynamic efi ebl will save alot of your tuning homework for adjusting your air fuel ratio bye use a ve learn with nb or wb o2. The ebl is easy to configure for na or boost but is map based. You do not state what you have or are going with tpi speed density or maf.
If You only have the one engine that you will be tuning the ebl p4 makes the best sense bang for the buck and getting the tuning done faster.
Check out Tuner pro for programing software and to support the DIY community please purchase it if you like the trial.

Re: Moates vs EBL
Dam that sucks so is the Moates c++ based and all hex based with no way to clearly see simple changes to a table to help tweak fuel and AE tables? It seems to get good press on the site and looks easy to load up with a nice program. TunerCat is what comes with it. Are there otehr better programs?
I tried moving the post but did not see how to in the edit feature.

Depending on what mask you are working on there are spread sheets that will help with tuning or you can try tts data master. Using the emulator will allow you to tune on the fly. depending on your build a wb o2 is a great tool instead of relying on a nb reading. There is not a way for you to move the post a moderator will need to move it if they feel necessary.
Its personal preference on tc or tp bolth have been disassembled well but adding items or finding addresses tp is much easier than buying a separate editor.
