Feedback/advice requested for down seasion upgrades

okay so far I got a a 5.7 TPI with headers, AC/Smog delete, and a semi-nice tune in stock ecu 700R4 with shift kit, limited slip differential (garbage), and street slicks running 10.09 (+or-) in the 1/8th. goal <9.50 I plan to spend between $2k and $4k this off session.

Okay so I already know I am ganna go with a yukon dura grip rear end "msd street fire SF CD ignition" and may invest in a set of 17" slicks (to mount on my 2004 GTO rims ) but other then that I don't know for sure what I want do I do have a few interest but plenty of more questions

camshaft-now they may not be completely relevant depending on other parts of my build I still have many questions-

Are computer controlled cams really necessary? I was told that the only difference is a more stable idle for the ecu but those cams power range is fairly low, with a higher price tag and options for roller are even worse.

If I were to stay with the stock intake it's most effective power range is maxed a 3500 would it make since to have a cam with a higher max power band?

Can a roller cam be changed without changing the lifters since the wear such a little amount?

To go roller what all do you need? I know its a different set up I am ganna go with the retro kit where they are held together, and an extra set of gears from my brothers conversion, but what about shims or something like that?

I understand the lift is how high the valve opens so you want that to be matched with the heads, but is the duration just how soon in the circle the valve begins to open? so wouldn't you want that to be very small and it's that matched with the pressure of the valve springs?

heads
-
are there any after market/performance heads for the TPI intakes or would switching the heads mean starting over from there up?

springs I have seen valves float and lose there keeper and cause all sorts of damage but I have also seen to much spring pressure prematurely destroy cams (granted it was flat tappet not roller) but what is some good pressures for both roller and non?

does aluminum help with anything other then being lighter weight? does that make the heads weaker? do they cool better?

I read somewhere that you can put a certain type of roller rocker on to provide more lift more info on that please. would that require a different valve cover?

What should I look for in heads? what exactly are the cc? What exactly is vortec?

Intake/ecu-if I switch the heads I would like to go with the Weiand stealth ram intake with the dual 58 mm intake-

Will that throttle body require tuning to work on current set up because I currently have it?

would the stock ecu/wiring harness work with the weiand intake? with a tune?

Does the stock fuel rail work with the weiand? I have heard yes, no and with modification well what type of modification?

I had the chip pre "tuned" last time how would I do it myself? It has the reprogrammable chip in it

is the MSD really as easy as connecting the adapter to the dizzy then supplying power set rev limiter and go? that box would be after all the other computer controlled components so it wouldn't mess with the ecu would it? would it give the knock sensor weird signals?

I also read about a "wideband o2 sensor" how does that differ from the stock one and how does it make it easier to tune?

thank you for reading any advice or suggest are more then wlecome

Msd box is a waste of money for your car, IMO.

What is done to your suspension? That's the best place to start. No sense making power if you can't put it to the ground.

Intake swap such as a stealth ram would be good, as well as matching cam, and of course a tune.

why is the msd a waste? it seemed to be the most effective way to get rev/launch limiter. and a turbo is quiet a few years off

The rev kimiter is nice and the box may help in the future if you add a turbo. But right now, for the money you will not see an et gain, which seems to be you current goal.
