1985 Camaro w/91 305l tpi

i just purchaced this 1985 camaro, the last owner claimed to have put a 91 tpi 305 from a RS, backed with a maunal 5 speed also from a RS. It ran great when i bought it but a week or so after i bought it it started having running issues while driving. it would fall on its face and not respond to any pedal movement. but by the time a would be able to pull over it started running normal and responding like i expected it to.

but naturally i wanted to check the fuel pump to see if it was the problem, the last owner gave me a lot of paper work and receipts. one of the receipts is for a fuel pump replaced a year before i bought it, part number E8012s from Auto zone says its for a 85. but for being a 85 pump with a 91 TPI i figured the fuel pressure was wrong for the engine. so i replaced it with what i though was the right pump its a Purolator FEP3902 got it off of amazon.

so i dropped the fuel tank and cleaned out the tank it was full of varnish and some rust ( guessing it sat for a while before i got the car) after i had all that back in a hooked back up. i went to start the car and it fired right up but then started to idle back down and just didnt stop till it died. has very little pedal responce but just enough that i can keep it going for about 5 to 10mins as long as i play with it.

i have tried hooking a OB1 scaner to it got nothing

Fuel pressure is at a 12psi at primed, 18psi at running (if i can keep it going)

Readjusted the TPS to .55V or .055v cant remember which one

did the IAC issolation and or tried adjusting the idle (couldnt get it to run for any good length of time)

Im not sure what i should try at this point anyone got some ideas?

If the tpi is from 91 you will have a map sensor and a 1227730 ecm. Chances are e was not moved to m on the aldl connecter. You need a acdelco ep241 , the fuel pump you installed is a low pressure pump.

The ecm is in a bracket under the passengers side dash. 43.5 (3bar) is where your fuel pressure needs to be.

Yep, installed a TBI pump, not a TPI pump.
