Speed Density Engine into MAF Car

I have a 90 TPI 350 available with 700 trans complete for my 87 305 IROC. Do I have to change the car to speed density, or can I just set up the 350 package on the MAF system?

What sensors need to be swapped over?

Just use the 305 maf and tb. Everything else should be same but will need a 350 maf chip/memcal

Also verify alternator wiring, 2 wire or 3 wire etc

I suppose it will run on the 305 chip and memcal to start with. Is there anyone who will do a mail-order tune for a MAF 350 package? Or will the MAF system automatically compensate for the increased airflow of a 350?

Does the MAF system use a MAP sensor? If so, is it the same sensor, same plug-in, same location?

Re: Speed Density Engine into MAF Car

Search classifieds for a factory ecm chip from an L98 87-88 yr. 89 will work if you disconnect cold start injector

No map sensors. No worries there

305 chip may run it but i cant guarantee. If the 305 didnt get the L98 cam then performance is way different, especially with power enrichments and start up crank fueling.

If you cant find one talk to tunedperformance on this forum

If you already have a TPI, all you do is swap out the engine under your intake and re-use all your existing wiring and sensors
You could even use the '90 MAP intake and just leave the MAP sensor in place ( disconnected ) to seal the hole

As noted;
will require a 350 MAF memcal in your computer and the correct MAF 350 knock sensor in place of your 305 one .
The KS calibration is different 305 vs 350

If you use the '90 MAP intake ,it will require the '89 350 TPI tune mentioned

Change the knock sensor and EGR and get a 350 chip for that year. EVERY THING ELSE YOU ALREADY HAVE.
