Re: stalls at operating temp, no codes
Did some more listening and the noise I hear is more of a suction noise and it's of course just the intake sucking air thru the air duct, silly me. I took the MAF off to examine it and what I saw is pictured and attached. No engine codes so this may not be an issue but the crack at the bottom of the ring doesn't look to be there on purpose as it was not a straight crack. The Upper one looked like it was on purpose, perfectly straight. Only thing from auto zone that's on this car is the sparkplug wires. I hated to get them there but my fav store didn't carry 8 mm and I didn't want to special order. The hot temp problem is gone it seems. Found a fan switch harness broke, flushed coolant system and it no longer gets hot. Replaced CCV a couple weeks ago, the PCV too and found that input to the intake from the PCV hose was hand loose. Tightened it. I think it helped some.other new parts are the complete distributor assembly and ignition coil. TPS, IAC, sparkplugs and wires done late spring. I will check out the intake gaskets and see what I find. I will try to readjust IAC and TPS also. If it gets down to those spark plugs (which aren't but maybe 500 miles on them) then I'm replacing these headers while I'm at it. Big pain in the butt to get to those plugs and the headers leak exhaust anyway. Recommendation on some headers that will give me better clearance, yet last?

How much? I have to check mine. It has that lower panel with the 5 wire leads on the bottom missing. I am wondering if that covers seals the unit. If not I have vac leaking wire the wire leads go to the into the MAF

Re: stalls at operating temp, no codes
Last time I checked oreillys had it for around $125. ABC Auto probably costs more, autozone just not dependable but probably only $5 cheaper anyway lol. I might order mine online for cheaper. May not have warranty though so that's the catch. A few years back I could get one for about $100 so they are getting harder to come by I bet. Might as well do MAF delete but would probably spend more money going that direction

Re: stalls at operating temp, no codes
Turns out it's $125 at autozone and $160 at oreillys. The more I studied this MAF, that crack looks like it's made that way. The ring is two halves and that's where the halves meet and are screwed together. If someone else could pull there's off to confirm this that would be cool. Going back to the intake and looking for leaks...Anyone know much about the EGR solenoid? I know you can't buy them new or refurbished anymore and have to convert to another and change wiring harness. What symptoms does it normally give when it's bad? Mine is missing the little filter and not sure how long it's been like that
