HELP! Idle Problems And Stalling...
Hello I have a 1987 Trans Am with a 350 Tpi. Engine has hooker headers and Polished heads. I've had idle and stalling problems ever since I bought it 2 years ago. I scanned and got the maf sensor code, replaced it and problems continued. Since then I've changed the tps sensor, cap, rotor, module, spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, and oxygen sensor and problem still continues. Any Ideas? By the way im running my car with No Thermostat can that affect it? Can it also be the EGR?

Can you be more specific about your "problems"?

Re: HELP! Idle Problems And Stalling...
Could be a lot of things. Have you checked for vacuum leaks? How about the injectors and fuel pressure, have you tested them? I also didn't see the ignition coil on your list of things checked or changed, I'd test that too. Do a search for past post on on idle and stalling problems. You'll see a lot of info on how to test the possible components causing these problems. I chased my rough idle problem for a long time, you just have to systematically go through and eliminate one thing at a time to find the cause.

No I have not test my fuel pressure and for vaccum Leaks. I will do that and hopefully find the problem. Thank You!
