cant get my 87 to fire. put in new fuel pump and relay

cannot get my 1987 Camaro to run. one day I jumped in to leave, turned the key, just kept cranking. So then I replaced the fuel pump. still nothing. I even put in a new fuel pump relay and wire harness. still nothing. when I use a jumper wire on the harness, the pump kicks on. when I go to start it the car will start then shut right off. I take away the jumper wire and its back to doing nothing. I have no idea what else to to. I even put in a esc module today hoping that was the problem. still nothing. my car has a 5.7 tpi. any help would be greatly appreciated .

Why are you starting a NEW thread about your problem when you haven't followed through on the old one ?
Answers are still going to the same

I started new threads so I can find someone that has had the same problem. I just want this problem fixed. I cant delete my old thread. I found out where the green and white wire lead to. im not sure that is what my problem is. these new threads describes mmy problem better. that's why I started NEW threads

Would suggest a injector ( not pulsing ) problem
Get a noid light and check for injector pulse

Without looking at the other thread, you need to start with the basics, (guessing OZ mentioned in the other post) but do you have spark? Do you have fuel pressure?

It's just my opinion, based on the parts you've tossed in, plus time (hope you did it yourself) you could have bought some nice diag tools to help you out.

I just tried the beat on the ecm method and the pump kicked on, so I started the car, it ran for a little while and died again. so does this mean the ecm is bad then?

dude, check your codes. it alone can solve your problem by pointing you in the right direction. I understand, believe me . sometimes I resort to throwing $100s at mine in the hopes of uncovering something I missed. but start with the CEL and see what codes you may have.and I might add .resist the temptation to go to auto zone for the cheapest parts you can get. and if you are unlucky enough to need a MAF. I strongly suggest a NEW one .I got mine from o,reilleys .made by a co. named "rich porter". and it cost $450.and as for the two relays that run it. call your chevy dealer and get the part numbers for the particular year you built your car from. then you can be sure to get the PROPER relays. take a deep breath, and start over. let us know what you find out

I got a ecm from the junkyard and the car fired and ran great. im going to have one of my buddies who is a mechanic take apart the old ecm and see if some of the solder came off on the board. a guy on here gave me that tip to see if there was anything like that wrong with it.
