To those that have deleted 9th Injector
Hi all,
Ok ive got 2 problems with this now that ive just found tonight. First of all is i installed my delete kit that i got from Hawks a while ago, all looks nice etc, but tonight im putting things back on the engine and i forgot about the PCV valve, the delete kit blocks off the hole that it screws into in the intake, is that right ? do i just do without this valve in the rocker cover now and use a little filter instead ?
2nd problem.......this is the main problem. i switched the ignition on tonight to see if things were working, and the fuel pump primed etc which was great, but then i could hear a slight hiss on and off, then followed by the sound of something dripping !
A pool of fuel started forming under the car, right under the oil filter. I soon traced it to the cap at the back of the fuel rail that used to have the pipe coming out of it going to the 9th injector. with the injector gone i took the pipe off and plugged the hole with a bolt sandwiched with sealant, then sealant on the threads before putting it on. Obviously this hasnt worked
Whats the best thing to do in regards to that cap on the back of the fuel rail to keep it fuel tight ?

The oval cap with the bolt is in the correct place. You put the plug in the wrong place. The plug that is blocking you PCV is for the end of the fuel rail. Once you remove the adapter bushing at the end of the fuel rail, the plug will fit just fine.

God damnit. Im sure the end of the fuel rail has the threads on the outside and the cap screws onto it, whereas the delete kit plug has the threads on the inside and doesnt match up ?
Im not sure what you mean by the adaptor bushing

A bushing adapts the thread size from one size or style to another. Such as 3/8" to 1/4", or NPT to inverted flare.
You are somewhat correct: The driver's rear end of the fuel rail has a large hex, which is the "adapter bushing". On the back end, it does have a male thread protruding from it, taking the 9th injector tube and (female) nut. The other end is also male (outside threads) where it screws into the fuel rail. So once you unscrew the adapter, you will have a female thread hole in the rail that the plug fits into.
Note the hex in the picture.

Ah so the hex part on the back of the fuel rail actually unscrews. Well you learn something new everyday !

Just make sure you check out that "O" ring on the plug and insure you didn't damage it when you screwed it into the intake.

ok i got it all changed around, everything went fine, although i think i disturbed my injectors while getting the hex off, they looked ok but for piece of mind i decided to pull the fuel rail and re-install them again just incase, so hopefully everything is all good now !
