Questions about TPI

Hi guys. New to the forums and TPI. I recently retired and have a project that I'd like to start later this year. Currently I've rounded up a 1990 Camaro TPI setup, i.e. runners, throttle body, plenum, rails, injectors and associated hardware. I have a 1998 ZR2 S10. It has a stock Vortec v6 in it that will be swapped to a Vortec v8. It's a pretty straight forward swap from everything I've read on it. I will also be converting the black box ECM to the 0411 unit. Once I have the v8 installed, up and running I'd like to swap out the stock Vortec intake for the TPI setup. I'm going to use the truck for off road use (as a toy) and would like the TPI to be able to use individual injectors instead of a "spider" type system. I also really like the look of the TPI system.

My question would be where can I find all the information on everything it takes to install the TPI intake system onto the Vortec engine. I also have a Scoggin Dickey lower intake to fit the parts to the Vortec heads. I'm also leaning towards using a LT-1 throttle body. I'd appreciate any words of wisdom. I know I could do a LS type engine swap but I truly think this would be much easier for me since I haven't done one in years. Thanks

Re: Questions about TPI

Good plan. Yes, 0411 conversion will make the TPI injectors sequential. All the answers will be in the PROM and fuel injection section of the techboard.

If you are going though an engine swap anyway, a complete pullout LS1 with harness, PCM and tranny will be very straight forward and yield lots of power with minimal effort.

But I like your idea better. The TPI pipes looks sooooooo good when you get them smoothed off and polished up. Another benefit is that the TPI/SBC sounds awesome. Just make sure you choose a cam that works in the sweet spot of the tuned runners. TPI makes great mid-RPM torque, but it won't scream like an LS1. Not even close.
