Throttle sticking.
When engine is running, the throttle will stick a bit, causing it to rev and maintain that rpm. However, when the engine is off, it does not get stuck, at all.
I've changed the cable, throttle body is brand new. Pedal is not getting stuck by the rug.
Any thoughts?

Re: Throttle sticking.
I just had this problem with a professional products TB. Best I could tell was that the throttle shaft was deflecting under the vacuum load of the engine and there wasn't enough clearance in the body to allow the throttle shaft to turn freely. After I messed with mine some more it started squeaking and sticking with the engine off. Summit racing is being cool and taking it back.

Re: Throttle sticking.
it was a professional products 58mm unit. It moved freely in the box, with the engine running, it would stick at any and every position. I think its just a junk part, I got what I paid for.
I have a stock throttle body on the car that sticks as well, but it only sticks right down near the fully closed position. The throttle shaft is a bit worn and moves around in the throttle body casting more than it should, I think the engine sucks the throttle butterflies back and puts the throttle butterfiles in a bind in the bore causing an intermitten high idle. When it's idling high I can pop the hood and push the throttle back with my thumb and it idles right down.

Re: Throttle sticking.
I had the same issue last year. my factory stock 48mm throttle body was sticking and on the highway it would stick I replaced it with a holley 52mm throttle body. and what's really crazy was I had a defective throttle body sent to me but holley replaced it for me and gave me another one. all is well now. If you want to keep the car stock you can have it rebuilt or if you don't mind aftermarket. go with BBK or holley. The holley looks the best of all the throttle bodys.
