Egr valve to much pressure
Hi
Would fitting the wrong egr valve by mistake cause me any Major problems ?
I Purchase EGR valve from summit racing EGV 403 this is for 305,
My Camaro is a 350 ?
I had issues engine seemed to build too much pressure up.
I have since found this Egr was wrong should have been EGV 627 correct for 350
1988 Camaro 350 tpi
My question is would that mistake cause the pressure problems or have i got other issues to sort out ?

Re: Egr valve to much pressure
The Catalog listing for an 88 TPI 350 should be a EGV393.

The 403 is correct for the 88 305 TPI.

The 403 is correct for the 88 305 TPI.

Ok My mistake miss read summit listing.
So now all i need to know is how much of an issue did the EGV403 cause me as car ran but had issues with to much pressure in crank case.
Would fitting wrong EGR cause this ?
Cheers

Too much pressure in the crank case shouldn't have anything to do with the egr. Suspect compression leaking past the rings or pcv problems.

Re: Egr valve to much pressure
It was not your mistake on the listing at summit. Those guys have a terrible problem with getting applications wrong.
I really don't know what the effects of the wrong egr valve would have. It only connects the intake to exhaust air streams so I don't see how that could pressurize the crank case.

Re: Egr valve to much pressure
Thanks will have a look at the PCV as I did fit billet ones could be a problem there.
I still will replace the 403 egr with the correct one while it is stripped cheers
