89GTA L98 hesitation
89GTA L98 hesitation
I bought an 89 GTA not running and replaced the fuel pump and distributor. It ran well but began to not fire at all if I killed it and tried to start it back up. Fuel pressure was below 40# and fell to 20# when I turned the key off. I ohmed the injectors and found 3 bad ones. I replaced the whole set with a known good set of 24# LT1 injectors and a good fuel pressure regulator. That fixed the restart problem but now when I step on the gas there is a lag in power until I go deeper into the throttle. When I go to the floor power seems much better. Any ideas? I planned to have Tuned Performance burn me a chip for the 24# injectors and the Headman mid length headers and Ram Air hood intake system that came on the car but no one seems to be able to get in contact with him.

Until you have the computer expecting that size injectors it seems like just guessing what problems it could be. I've noticed Tuned has been absent too, hope everything is alright.
For what it's worth, I had 24# Bosch III's in my car briefly without the computer being corrected for them and I never noticed a hesitation. But mine is SD so that could be niether here nor there.
