new cam for my 5.7 tpi
hey
I have to change my head gasket because of a leak and want to install a new cam at the same time...
I have hooker 2055 headers and full 3" exhaust with cat delete and air delete everything else is stock.
The car is a 89 5.7 tpi with 103000 miles.
But what will be a good cam ??? It has to work with the stock head.
Will this setup work...

And a adjustable fuel pressure regulator do i need more ???
Maybe a stupid questions but do i have Roller Lifters or flat tappet lifters ??

On a stock TPI manifold you don't want to go too big. The cam you picked will work, but may be a little larger in duration than the stock computer may like. I'd suggest a tune regardless of what camshaft you pick. I run a http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...?csid=194&sb=2 Comp 501 and its as big as you'd really want to go on a stock manifold. Otherwise a 500 http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...?csid=193&sb=2 is a good choice too.
Also I'd suggest valve seals while the heads are off or even a rebuild. DO NOT replace those heads with 193 heads. Common rebuilds want to change TPI heads to those. Stick with stock 083 heads.
