Canister purge valve vacuum line? - 1991 Firebird

So a previous owner disconnected the canister purge valve (the small round thing with two large hoses and one small one that connects to the top). Does anyone have any pictures of where it's supposed to connect to? Also, how can I tell if the valve is still any good? There is one vacuum-looking line that is disconnected, but it has a very short hose so I don't know if the previous owner just cut it off or what. This is on a 1991 Firebird Formula 5.0L TPI.

EDIT: Just to be clear, this is the part I'm talking about:

The two hoses coming off the right side both connect to a T-fitting which then has the single line going to the charcoal canister. The valve in the picture is a bypass valve.

Ah, ok. So the vacuum produced by the engine is what actuates the bypass then? I'll see if I can find where it's supposed to connect to, I may have to add a t-fitting.

There should be a small vacuum line down next to the passenger's side wheel well. Mine is a hard line that then switches to a rubber line that feeds into the bypass valve. Look down in that area.

Ok, so it had been a while since I had looked at what was disconnected, and got it all mixed up in my head. The purge valve is actually hooked up properly, it was the heater control valve that is disconnected. I made a new thread in the cooling section: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/cool...ve-vacuum.html

I may come back to this and add a picture of the purge valve setup tomorrow in case someone comes across this thread later.

As promised here are a few pics of the purge valve. I don't know how long they'll stay around on tinypic though.
