L98 vs LS7 lifters
Measured my stock L98 lifters with 215,xxx miles on them vs new LS7 lifters I purchased, wanted to post what I found.
With these measurements, you could also calculate the exact correct preload based on the threads per inch of the rocker stud you are using.
From GMpartsdirect:
DESCRIPTION: LIFTER PK
• Set of 16 lifters for LS-Series engines
• Same lifter used in LS2 and LS7 P/N 17122490 (single lifter)
Cup to top of lifter measurements.
L98:
Extended .340"
Depressed .480"
Total movement: .140"
LS7:
Extended .282"
Depressed .495"
Total movement: .213"
All other measurements are the same.
