305 TPI ISSUE HELP PLEASE!!!!
305 TPI ISSUE HELP PLEASE!!!!
Hi, I need your help!! My car developed this issue over the winter. It ran fine when I stored it. Last year I replaced the injectors, MAF, plugs, wires, IAC, TPS, fuel filter. It ran perfect, idled perfect. After about a month of sitting in the cold, it didnt wanna start up. And when I got it going its giving me this problem, I cannot rev it full throttle, it chokes up. Anyone deal with this issue and how do I go about troubleshooting it. Any help will be appreciated. Its a 1988 305 TPI. There is NO check engine light on.

Sounds like a lot of knock. For grins I'd look at the distributor to make sure it didn't move. It was only sitting for a month? Might want to check to make sure mice didn't move in to the exhaust or air intake.

Just looking at the video, it appears you have the MAF and intake hose disconnected from the throttle body and just sticking out the front of the engine compartment?

Id check your fuel pressure and also keep in mind the fuel pump may be a problem as well. similar things were happening to my fathers truck and he replaced the pump and now its running a lot better.

Thanks everyone for your advice so far. The cap and rotor were very carbon fouled and corroded...cant believe it was that bad in the course of a year, weve had a cold and brutal winter. I also replaced the plugs again, and the car fired up fine. Im still getting issues with cold starts, which is leading me to think the CSI is also a problem as well as the fuel pump.. only reading 35psi when the car is cold but gets a normal reading after. I drove the car and filled it up but its still hesitating when accelerating. I am going to swap the pump and filter and go from there. Again thanks, for the help so far...
