Initial timing setting for a 1989 iroc-z 305 TPI

Hello

Does anyone of you have the degrees of initial timing for my car ? There is no label under the hood ! I forgot to mark the distributor when i removed it.

There are a lot of different informations on this timing (from 0 to -10) ??

AFAIK, all TPI engines are 6* BTDC.

Here in Austria the minimum oktane number is 95.
Is it possible to set a bit more timing ?

Thanks.

How the US and how Europe define the octane ratings is different. 93 here isn't the same as 93 in Europe.

As for increasing the SA, try it, data log, and see if the knock counts go up or if the engine starts to get rough.
