85 TransAM - TPI Feed / Return line identification

Hi Guys,
Can anyone tell me how to identify which fuel line is which?
The two lines run down the LHS of the car to the engine bay, and with the flexible lines removed, you have two pipes facing upwards, one is shorter than the other...

The larger one is the feed with the smaller one being the return.
