Engine lock?

Car was running fine, got my cats removed today, and sooner or later my car died. It smelled like gas, had some minor leak on my exhaust pipe and a leak from the engine. Turns out I didn't have any oil at all and the leak from the engine was gas? I removed the intake and it all fell out, I'm assuming it was gas since it smelled like it.

After it turned off it was still cranking non stop, then later it would crank about two three times then it would just stop cranking. Now it doesn't crank at all and i noticed my rpm gauge is all the way to 70 as the car sits. Any help will be appreciated. 305 TPI.

Re: Engine lock?

I'm not sure what to go with here....what you wrote is awfully confusing. If you want to check if the motor is locked then try to turn the engine over by hand, with a ratchet or even a screw driver down by the flywheel. If it turns a little, it's not locked up.

Sounds like you may be hydrolocked if gas has leaked into the cylinders. You can very easily break/bend something by turning it over.Pull all the spark plugs, then see if it turns over.Sounds like you have maybe damaged some wiring while working on the exhaust.

I'm assuming the engine is locked, because when I turn the key all you hear is "Clank." But the flywheel does turn little by little as I continue to attempt to turn the car on. I just finished removing all the spark plugs and I sprayed WD 40 inside each hole so hopefully that will work.

Car ran fine until after I got my cat removed for a straight pipe, but the guy at the muffler shop didn't mess with anything else. He just cut the cat and added a pipe. He also added a hole on the pipe to prevent the engine light from turning on.

It was doing this. https://youtu.be/P5oM_KAZ5cU

From that it would just make a clank with no crank, now that i sprayed the wd 40 it sound different here..

Just thinking with the gas leaking, tach reading off, maybe something in the wiring got screwed up, or, shorted. It's kinda hard to say what it may be the way he is describing it all.Not real clear.

Tach is back to normal and not really sure if it was gas or oil, my brother claimed it smelled like gas but i think it was oil. Forgot to mention that when i took the last spark plug on the passenger side, oil came out of it.
